Spa day at home

Would you like to unwind and treat yourself to some time off? It's high time for a spa day. One option would be a visit to the spa or a wellness weekend, but the more comfortable and at least as relaxing option is a beauty day in your own four walls. Treat yourself to a head-to-toe care ritual now and pamper yourself!

Step 1: Create a cosy atmosphere

Room scents are great for giving your home the idyllic atmosphere it needs. Depending on your own taste, you can go for a light, fresh or rather a sensual, heavy fragrance. Scented candles create a particularly cosy atmosphere and relaxation with their warm, dim light.

Step 2: Pure relaxation with a bath

Good preparation is half the rent, as the saying goes. To be able to relax and feel at ease while taking a bath, it's best to lay out a cosy bathrobe and a fluffy towel in advance. Your favourite music is also helpful for relaxation. Treat yourself to a glass of wine or prosecco, but not too much, otherwise your circulation might not be able to cope.

The temperature of the bath water should be between 36 and 38 degrees. If the water is too cold, the muscles cannot relax properly, and too hot water dries out the skin. The optimal bathing time is between five and twenty minutes. However, under no circumstances should you lie in the bathtub for too long, as this can also lead to dry skin and circulatory problems.

Step 3: Velvety soft skin thanks to body scrubs

Body scrubs not only cleanse the skin, they also ensure that the skin is better supplied with blood and thus firmer. The oils and nutrients they contain moisturise the skin and open the pores. Impurities and flakes on particularly dry areas such as elbows, feet or knees are removed and the skin becomes silky soft again.

Application: Gently massage the cream into the skin in circular motions. Avoid the neck and face, as the skin is more sensitive there and a special face peeling should be used.

The easiest way to wash off the scrub is to use a soft sponge in the shower. Do not use soap, as this would wash away the nourishing oils remaining on the skin.

Body scrubs can be used weekly for normal skin and less frequently for dry skin.

Step 4: Sustainable care

With the peeling you have perfectly prepared the skin for the body lotion. Skin areas that tend to be dry can be treated with a somewhat richer oil. Treat yourself to a high-quality oil such as the Deep Comfort Body Oil by Clinique or the Dry Body Oil by Moroccanoil. Skin that already tends to be oily should be cared for with a light cream.

Step 5: After a bath

You will have sweated during the bath and should therefore replenish your body's fluids.

Drink a relaxing tea or another caffeine-free hot drink. To stay relaxed for a long time, you should let the spa day end quietly.
